EASYCUT NMO121 is a chlorine-free, mineral-oil-based neat cutting oil with a viscosity of 12 mm²/s (ISO 12), used undiluted for light to medium general machining and drilling. It runs on carbon and alloy steel, cast iron, aluminum and yellow metals. Balanced EP additives give a good surface finish and low tool wear, and the low viscosity drains quickly off parts and chips.
For heavier cuts, deep-hole drilling at higher loads and broaching, the next grade up is NMO241 (ISO 24); for gear cutting and heavy-duty work, NMO361 (ISO 36).
At 12 mm²/s NMO121 flows easily through through-tool channels and into a fast, light cut, and it drains off parts and chips quickly, so less oil leaves the machine with them. The trade-off is a lower flash point than thicker oils and more tendency to mist under heavy load — on enclosed machines with a mist collector that is rarely an issue. If the cut smokes, the load calls for a thicker grade.
NMO121 can usually be mixed with other mineral-based neat cutting oils of similar viscosity. To be sure, mix a small amount of both in a clear jar and leave it for 24 hours. No separation means the two can go into the machine together; layers or haze mean drain and clean first.

The 55-gallon drum is the working size for a shop running NMO121 in its neat-oil machines, at a lower price per litre than the pail. For a drill press, a tapping station or topping up one machine, take the 5-gallon pail; for Swiss-type cells and central oil systems, the 270-gallon tote has the best price per litre. Safe handling is covered in the SDS. More neat oils: cutting oils.
