EASYCUT NMO361 is a chlorine-free, mineral-oil-based neat cutting oil with a viscosity of 36 mm²/s (ISO 36), used undiluted for heavy-duty machining and gear cutting. It is the thickest of the EASYCUT neat cutting oils: balanced EP additives and a strong oil film protect the edge where cutting forces are highest, for a good surface finish and low tool wear.
For medium-duty work, deep-hole drilling and broaching, NMO241 (ISO 24) is the better fit; for light work, small drills and Swiss-type lathes, NMO121 (ISO 12).
Under high cutting forces a thin oil is squeezed out of the contact zone, and the edge runs on metal. NMO361's higher viscosity keeps a film there, smokes less and has the highest flash point of the three grades — above 210 °C. What it gives up is flow: it drains more slowly, so more oil leaves on parts and chips, and it does not suit small drills or high-speed light cuts. Use it where the load, not the speed, is the problem.
NMO361 can usually be mixed with other mineral-based neat cutting oils of similar viscosity. Check first: a small amount of both in a clear jar for 24 hours. No separation means they can go into the machine together.

The 55-gallon drum is the working size for a gear-cutting machine or a heavy-duty cell running NMO361 every day, at a lower price per litre. For topping up, a smaller machine or a trial, take the 5-gallon pail. Safe handling is covered in the SDS. More neat oils: cutting oils.
