How Belt Oil Skimmers Work

A continuous belt moves through the coolant surface, collecting tramp oil and transferring it into the separation unit. Inside the skimming zone, a dedicated impeller actively draws floating oil toward the belt and stabilizes flow. This creates a steady stream of surface coolant into the extraction area, improving separation efficiency and ensuring consistent performance even when chips, debris, or wide oil patches are present in the tank.

Skimmer Technologies and Mounting Options

Belt-driven skimmers use a rotating belt that lifts oil through adhesion and directs it into a separation chamber. They perform well across medium and large tank surfaces, even when coolant levels fluctuate. Tube skimmers and disk skimmers operate similarly but are typically used in compact setups or irregular tank shapes.

We offer two mounting concepts: free standing models that sit inside or near the tank without modification, and fixed mounting models that attach to the coolant tank using a rigid bracket for permanent positioning. Both designs operate without a magnetic base and work well with coolant tanks used in Haas, Doosan, Okuma, Mazak and other CNC machines.
