The refractometer factor or Brix factor for CNC fluid concentrate is a multiplier used to convert the refractometer readings (Brix scale) into the actual concentration of the emulsion (concentrate + water).
EASYCUT UNI301 in a 270-gallon (1022 L) tote — for steel and stainless shops that run UNI301 in a central system or across a row of CNC machines. Same semi-synthetic coolant as the pail and drum, at the lowest price per litre.
Shops where every lathe and machining centre runs the same coolant, often with high-pressure or through-spindle supply, and where coolant is mixed in one place and pumped or carried to the machines. At 7 % a single tote turns into roughly 3,850 gallons of working emulsion — a lot of machines' worth of sump fills and top-ups.
The limit is the calendar, not the space. UNI301 keeps for 12 months unopened, so a tote pays off only if the shop goes through about 22 gallons (85 litres) of concentrate a month. Below that, two or three 55-gallon drums a year cost a little more per litre and nothing goes to waste.
Put the tote indoors, out of frost and direct sun, and fit the EASYMIX coolant mixer on its outlet with the IBC adapter and bracket. The mixer runs on water pressure and gives a stable emulsion at a fixed ratio — 6–8 % for steel and stainless is the usual setting. Check the sumps with a refractometer, factor 1.3.
Concentrations for aluminum and grinding, foam and water-hardness notes and the full technical data are on the UNI301 drum page.
