- Radial: this classic type of bmt tool holders features a slot for the shank positioned perpendicular to the rotation axis of the workpiece.
- Axial or bmt facing tool holder: here, the slot for the tool is positioned parallel to the rotation axis, allowing for efficient groove machining.
