A gallon of EDM601 costs the same in the tote as in the 55-gallon drum. What the tote buys you is less work: one delivery instead of five drums, one fixed draw-off point instead of moving drums around, and no empties to get rid of.
That assumes you already handle pallets with a forklift and have room for a 270-gallon container. If you don't, take the drum — same price per gallon, much easier to move.
Unopened, EDM601 keeps for 12 months. To empty a tote in that time you need to use about 23 gallons a month — roughly one drum every two and a half months. Below that, the drum is the right size: not because the tote is worse, but because you would not finish it in time.
