The refractometer factor or Brix factor for CNC fluid concentrate is a multiplier used to convert the refractometer readings (Brix scale) into the actual concentration of the emulsion (concentrate + water).
EASYCUT PRO399 in a 5-gallon (19 L) pail — the universal coolant for shops with a lot of brass, bronze and copper, with additives that keep copper out of the emulsion. At 7 % one pail makes about 70 gallons of working coolant.
The quickest way to see what PRO399 does is to put it in the machine that suffers most — usually a lathe or Swiss-type machine running brass or bronze, where the coolant turns green and has to be changed early. Fill it from a pail, run it for a few weeks and watch the colour of the coolant and the parts. When it holds, switch the rest of the shop with 55-gallon drums at a lower price per litre.
The pail also suits a single machine and topping up between drums.
Run it from 7 % for general machining — about 5.4 °Brix on the refractometer, factor 1.3. Add the concentrate to the water, not the other way round. Check new alloys for staining on a part first.
The 28-day copper test, technical data and water limits are on the PRO399 drum page.
