The refractometer factor or Brix factor for CNC fluid concentrate is a multiplier used to convert the refractometer readings (Brix scale) into the actual concentration of the emulsion (concentrate + water).
EASYCUT PRO302 in a 5-gallon (19 L) pail — the universal semi-synthetic coolant with aluminum inhibitors, for mixed CNC work on aluminum, steel, cast iron and titanium. At 7 % one pail makes about 70 gallons of working coolant: the first fill for a small machine, or a proper trial.
Switching coolant in a whole shop on someone's word is a risk. A pail is enough to fill one machine that does a lot of aluminum and run it for a few weeks: watch tool life, built-up edge, thread quality and whether any alloy stains. If it does what it should, move the rest of the shop over with 55-gallon drums at a lower price per litre.
The pail is also the right size for a single machine, and for topping up between drums.
Mix at 7–10 % for aluminum, 6–8 % for steel and cast iron, 4–6 % for grinding. Add the concentrate to the water, not the other way round. The refractometer factor is 1.3: a reading of 6 °Brix means about 8 %. For yellow metals, keep them under a quarter of the work and check for staining.
The tapping torque result on aluminum, the full concentration table and technical data are on the PRO302 drum page.
