Technical Description

Angled (90°) live tool holder for VDI40 turrets with a DIN 5480 driven-tool coupling — the standard drive on most VDI lathes. Adds radial milling, drilling and tapping on the turret, so the part is finished in one setup.

DIN 5480 is not the same drive as Haas VDI40 live tooling. Both are called VDI40, the disc and the shank diameter match, but the internal drive splines do not. Check which drive your turret uses before ordering.

Machine compatibility

The DIN 5480 coupling is not tied to a machine brand — it is built into VDI turrets across manufacturers, Sauter among them. What has to match is the turret size, VDI40, and the drive standard. The same family covers VDI 20, 25, 30, 40, 50 and 60; if your lathe has a different turret size, ask us and we will quote the matching unit.
